Services Provided & Procedures
and Equipment Out Patient Services:
Department runs two days of week OPD services on
Tuesday and Friday (09:30 AM - 01:00 PM). Patients are
also seen on other days on prior appointments.
In patient services: An independent Nephrology
Ward with ICU back up.
Dialysis Unit:
Dialysis unit is equipped with four state of
the art computerized dialysis machine (Fresenius
4008). It has a dedicated reverse osmosis water
treatment plant and dialyzer reprocessing room.
Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis
(CAPD) Services: CAPD is a form of dialysis
that the patient performs at home and comes to hospital
only for regular check up intermittently. We have
evolved a fully functional program for the delivery
of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis services.
In collaboration with Baxter an independent Peritoneal
Dialysis Counseling Center has also been established
in the ward.
Vascular Access Service:
The department has established itself as the
active and competent facility for establishing vascular
access for dialysis patients. We are regularly performing
the following procedures
- Temporary Dialysis Catheter placement
- Permanent dialysis catheter placement
- AV fistula surgery
Kidney biopsy (native and transplant kidney):
This is one of the most useful procedures performed
in Nephrology for diagnosis and management of renal
diseases. We perform this real time under ultrasonographic
guidance on a regular basis.
Kidney Transplant Patients: We are providing
comprehensive pre & post transplant care to
many transplant recipients in our department. These
are patients who have been transplanted in various
centers across the country.
